I really think you should consider the size/width of the loader bar.

It seems too small and narrow in this new version.

The current longer bar, allows for a clearer view of the loading process. It’s size allows for very distinctive steps in the loading process, which is good from a usability point of view.
Something that can be really hard to spot in the small one.

I also believe that a wider loader bar, makes the user perceive the game to load faster since the width makes the loader animation itself move faster across the screen, than it does in the new small version. Something psychological to consider, but granted I’ve not been able to find anything to back up this last assumption.

Yeah – I agree with Burfelt, the loader bar really needs to be wider.

Also, on “toning down” the Mochi branding, I think the Mochi head logo should be moved to the top right, decreasing in size to match the top bar.

Also: I like the top two (acorn ones) – Where the bars are flat, not gradients and don’t have rounded corners. This really gives the preloader a nice feel, rather than bulky rounded images with gradients. It looks nice, but not a great feel for a preloader type-object.

Have you reduced the time to 10 seconds ? :-)

I agree with the loading bar being too small. I also think that “Play” button, as well as the loading bar, should be placed somewhere more prominent. There are some ads that displays their own “Play Now” buttons and I wouldn’t want them to overpower the game’s play button and confuse the players :)

Michele has a point, but I think the play button might be distinctive enough as it is now. Else it might be worth considering to have the play button pulsate (VERY subtle) after it’s loaded, as a “call to action” for the user.

Perhaps it would be better to move the Mochi icon to the top right as Dylan suggest. It seems that it would fit into that bar, which purpose is to lend clarification and explanation to the ad that follows below. The lower bar on the other hand, has info bound to the game that is loading.

I any case, this is shaping up very nicely!

Wow, some day the entire loading screen will be a giant mochi logo. Suck ‘em dry, is what I always say. :]

Place the mochi logo to the top bar at the right end and let the whole bottom bar be the preloading bar. When the preloading completes, visualize the play button just beneath the ad.
