Casual Connect, Hamburg
Mochi’s “Mr. Shen” (aka Alexander Shen) presented at Casual Connect in Hamburg last month. He had a great turnout for his presentation, titled “Smashing Creative Roadblocks”, and really enjoyed talking about the creative process with the Casual Connect attendees (watch the video). In case you didn’t know, Mr. Shen is a pretty creative guy. He creates his own Flash games during his daily train rides to and from work, has produced comics, and even toys.
Why did Alexander chose this topic?
“The idea behind my presentation was simply to aid those developers and designers who find themselves staring at blank screens and pounding their heads for the next idea. Keep in mind I didn’t say “next million dollar idea”. The tips and tricks I offered are simply, and hopefully, ways of sparking some kind of innovation or idea in a designer’s head so they can actually get cranking on something. Sometimes the most impressive and interesting things come from the most random ideas and sometimes we just need a little push.”
