New Developer Fan Pages
We’ve recently released a new part of the up and coming Mochi Social Platform. Developer Fan Pages give your players the ability to follow you as a developer and be notified when you release games or have updates. Developer Fan Pages are also an easy way for players to find your game portfolio, your websites, and latest status updates. Thousands of players have already become fans of their favorite developers, so go and fan your favorites now!
Here are some fan pages to check out:
How do I send messages?
Every time you publish a new game, either in Mochi’s Distribution Program, or mark it as published, (example: if you’re site locking the game) we’ll tell all your fans by posting a notification message in their stream. You can manually submit messages about games you’re building or game updates in the box at the bottom of your fan page settings. These posts are instantly broadcast out to the game streams of all your fans.
How do players get messages?
Players can access your messages from mochigames.com, or through the login widget inside of games. Your updates are also available to non-fans through the login widget in a new tab called ‘game’. We’ll continue to add additional ways players can receive messages in the future.
How do I customize my developer fan page?
You can customize your developer fan page by visiting the account section on mochimedia.com. {Link} Select your unique url, choose a logo or avatar, write a description, make posts, and more.
How do players become a fan?
If you use the Mochi Login Widget in your game, players can become a fan without any further effort from you. They can also become a fan on your fan page, so you can link players from your own websites directly there. The up and coming Mochi Social Platform will also contain APIs which make it easy to request players to become a fan.
BONUS: Mochi Social API Update
Developer Fan Pages are an integral part of the up coming Mochi Social Platform. The Mochi Social platform will go even further in allowing you to reach players and fans through your games. We’re currently adding rich data APIs that will let you display friends of the logged in player, display score information about them, store or retrieve data on friends, and much more. Stay tuned for further updates on beta games that are using the Mochi Social Platform. We’ll be handing out the API to a wider set of developers in the coming weeks. Please contact us if you’re interested in using the new Mochi Social platform!
