Happy New Year everyone! Following on the heels of the Leaderboards challenges, we’ve released an exciting new Facebook friends integration with MochiAds Leaderboards. This enhancement enables players to compare scores with their Facebook friends who have also played the game.
How It Works
Any user on your site will now see any Friends tab in all Leaderboard enabled games as well as your Leaderboard Widgets.

Once they log in with their Facebook credentials, they’ll be able to see how they score against their friends.

More Traffic For Your Site
In addition, they’ll be able to invite their Facebook friends to play against them! Just like with the challenges in the Leaderboards, publishers that have the Publisher Bridge installed will have invited friends taken back to play the game on their site. This means more traffic for you! :)
In the near future, we will be adding feed updates so your friends can see what games you’re playing and play it on your site, and notifications if you get bumped from a top spot on the site. Play a game to try it out and don’t forget to let us know your thoughts!
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I ensure that invited Facebook friends come back to my site?
To ensure that invited friends play on your website, make sure you have installed the Publisher Bridge on your site. The Publisher Bridge brings all invited players from Facebook invites and challenge invites back to your website to play the game. The integration is simple and can be done with a simple copy and paste of HTML code. To grab your Bridge Script visit the settings tab of your account at: http://www.mochiads.com/pub/settings
- 1. Login to your MochiAds account and visit the publisher section
- 2. Click on the ’settings’ tab near the top of the page.
- 3. Scroll down to the section titled ‘Publisher Bridge’
- 4. Copy and past the script onto your game page template. It should be anywhere above the tag of your HTML.
You can read the full documentation on how to install the bridge here.
Does this feature support games with multiple leaderboards?
Yes, it does!
Can players stop notifications and feed updates from showing up on Facebook?
Yes, they can simply not log in. Or else, they can go to their application settings and change the privacy settings of the MochiGames Facebook application.

I just tried it with a game on my site + when players accepted the invitation on facebook it sent them to the game on mochiads.com instead of my site!
Same situation here, leaderboard bridge installed, system send the players to mochiads instead of my site
Keep in mind that the publisher bridge needs to be on the same page as the game to be loaded. There are some instances where the bridge may not connect properly as it depends on Flash LocalConnection which isn’t %100 reliable but that shouldn’t happen often.
If you’re still having an issue, please send us an email at support at mochiads.com with your userID and an example, and we’ll take a look at it.
Great idea–I invited everyone I could today, will try to remember to do again tomorrow. :)
If you have issues with games going to mochiads.com email us your details and how to reproduce the issue to support@mochimedia.com. Thanks!
Great idea guys. I have just been turning my games into Facebook apps. Would it be possible for us to set the game to load the info through our app, rather than loading the Mochi Facebook app? (sorry if this is tricky to understand!)
Edmund, at this point that would be hard to do. We need to get that info into our scores server so we can track facebook uids with scores and the way we have it setup is the only way to get that info.
Is it possible to integrate this with the friends my users have on MY website instead of on facebook?
Trisman, this feature is only for that user’s friends on Facebook. However, there is a way to show scores only for your site through the Leaderboards widget by specifying your partner ID. Check out the leaderboards documentation for details and feel free to email our support if you have any further questions.
hi! Im just a casual gamer and I want to invite facebook friends to play some game and the button is greyed out, why this could be?
should they have the mochiads fb app already installed?
thanks
