This week we’re proud to roll out a brand new look and structure to Mochi Media’s products and services. It’s been our ongoing mission to build the best-in-class products to serve the Flash games community, and looking back over the past few years we’re proud of the tools that we’ve built and want our site to reflect that.

Highlights

  • We’ve moved! Our primary site has moved from www.mochiads.com to www.mochimedia.com and has a snazzy new look!
  • Our products have been consolidated and re-organized into the Mochi Developer Center, the Mochi Advertiser Center and the Mochi Publisher Center.
  • New pages for each of our products like the Scores API (formerly our leaderboards service) and Game Distribution, to make it easier to understand all the different ways we can help you.
  • MochiBot has been re-named to Mochi Analytics and included in the Mochi Developer Center side-by-side with Ads API.
  • We’ve launched the Mochi Coins API, a new product which provides developers the means to easily add micro-transactions and payments into their games.

Why The Update?

Mochi Media was originally founded in 2005, and the first product we released was MochiBot our analytics tool. Since then, we launched MochiAds ad network in 2007 and followed it up with loads of new products and services for developers to have an easier time making their games. We’ve beefed up our advertising sales through hiring a top-notch sales team and signing ad rep deals with guys like WildTangent and Google, and launched a publisher program which now encompasses top sites like hi5, MindJolt, AOL Games, the Huffington Post and more. Whew, that’s a lot that we’ve accomplished over the past 5 years and we have so much more in store for you. :)

As the company grows, we want the website to grow with it. All of our new products were launched under the umbrella of MochiAds, and in following our mission of “Fueling Creativity” to help developers build great games we’ve built so much more than just an ads product. However, talking to our users and partners, many of them weren’t aware of cool products like high scores, analytics and the ability to update your game anywhere – all of which can be used for free without a lick of advertising! To that end, we made the decision to roll everything up under Mochi Media and re-structure all these cool services as separate products so that it’s easier for our users to understand what we offer.

Mochi Developer Center

Within the Developer Center, we’ve re-organized to better highlight our product offerings:

  • Ads API (formerly known as MochiAds) enables Flash game developers to insert ads into their games.
  • Analytics API (formerly known as MochiBot) enables developers to invisibly track the viral distribution of their Flash content.
  • Coins API, a new product, enables Flash game developers to profit by selling game upgrades and items directly to their players.
  • Game Distribution is a service which helps game developers distribute their games to publisher partners.
  • Live Updates (formerly Version Control and Encryption) enables developers to make game updates and bug fixes after the game has been distributed.
  • Scores API (formerly Leaderboards Service) is a free service to add global high scores and Facebook integration into your games.

Mochi Advertiser Center

Our new Mochi Advertiser Center makes it easier for media buyers to understand our network and the huge audience that they can reach through Mochi’s network of games.

  • Audience numbers, and a showcase of the many leading brands that are using our network
  • Key information for advertisers on how they can target Young Adults, Teens and Women through the Mochi Media network.
  • Mochi Self-Serve Ads program page, which provides advertisers with smaller budgets with the flexibility to create campaigns with as little as $100.

Mochi Publisher Center

Publishers, want some games for your site? We’ve made it easier for you to understand all the great ways you can work with us through the new Mochi Publisher Center.

  • Detail pages for the publishers to find out more about the benefits of our Game Distribution program to get free games for their site.
  • A new page about the Mochi Bridge API, which enables publishers to really custom integrate games into their site without going through the work of contacting developers one-by-one.

In addition to getting great games, publishers have always been able to earn a share of the ad revenues generated by adding Mochi games to their site. We’ve made this program even better by announcing an affiliate program for our premium Flash games. This program (details coming shortly) will apply to any of our games which use the Mochi Coins API to directly sell game upgrades and virtual goods to users. Publishers will receive an affiliate share for purchases that take place from games played on their site!
