Flash Video is on the Horizon

I’m a firm believer that Flash video will soon overtake Windows Media and Quicktime as the de facto video format for websites that care about usability and the seamless integration of a video player. The guys at YouTube.com are definitely moving in the right direction and helping people to convert their videos into Flash format.
Here’s a nice little interview by Flash Magazine with the CEO of On2 Technologies, the creators of the new Flash 8 video codec, about what’s to come with Flash video. Read the interview here

i couldn’t believe that they’re the first to do this. it seems so obvious of a natural progression from flickr, folksonomy, web 2.0, … i’ll be watching this space closely.
