Rat-tat-tat-tat-tat! Pew! Pew!
This week’s Flash Game Friday winner is Retroshoot! This game pits the player against waves of enemies in a horizontal/vertical (it changes depending on the wave) shooter that reminds of “shmups” of yesteryear! One of the features I liked in the game was the fact that the game did all the shooting for me. I didn’t have to rapidly click my finger over and over again, nor did I have to keep my finger down in a cramped like fashion to keep the ship firing. This allowed me to focus my time and energy on dodging enemies while blowing other ones out of space. Couple that with really nice special effects (that purple lightning gets me every time) and you’ve got yourself an exciting time drain. Take that, you frakkin’ toasters!

Very nice game. Definitely pushes the capabilities of the Flash player. I predict a whole bunch of Geometry Wars knockoffs now :)

Sorry, this is a nice game but it’s not original in the slightest. And you “expect” geometry wars clones? There’s been hundreds and this is just another one. YOu can always tell, most of them can’t even think up a new ship design for the player.

Your comparison to “Geometry Wars” is peculiar. “Geometry Wars” is a shooter game, as is “Retroshoot”, but the latter is not an arena shooter (i.e. Robotron) nor does it use dual-stick shooting mechanics (i.e. Smash TV). If anything, it’s more of a standard “shmup” with “Geometry Wars” type graphics.
what is the music track playing in this game and where can i download it!!!!!
I love the game! all the light, everything explodes in different colors.
