There’s nothing healthier than setting some people on fire for the weekend.

This week’s Flash Game Friday winner is Chain of Fire! Combining the fine elements of chain reaction puzzling with setting people on fire, asagoPan has combined two fine elements that may very possibly have had something to do with how this country was formed (probably not). The interface is clean, the graphics are suitable and the gameplay is as easy to pick up as a ball covered with rubber cement. It employs the video game design choice of “big outcome for little effort”, where you see dozens of people (and trees) burst into flames with two simple clicks of a button. It’s very much like the excitement achieved with the PopCap game Peggle. Every little thing you do is actually grander than expected and you’re willing to hit “retry” if you fail the mission. Sure there’s a few, “Come on!” remarks here and there, but it’s a great experience.
I can’t seem to pull myself away from playing this game, just to see if I can get through all 70 levels. Combine that with saved state gaming and we’ve got ourselves a winner right here!
Make sure to congratulate asagoPan and give the game a go!
