dino, did you ever tried to upload game to Kongregate? in the end of it, Kongregate ASK YOU to INVITE YOUR FRIENDS to PLAY and RATE it. if you have problem with this system – sent email to Kongregate. It`s not me who invite this.

First off all, telling a few friends to rate it high isn’t going to make any overall difference, and isn’t going to help you.

Second, if you get enough “friends” to do it, then you are cheating, and therefore cheating other developers.

It’s just not a good advice, and has nothing to do with distribution.

Thanks for everything else in your article though. I’m only disagreeing with that particular point.

Yeah, I’m also a little bit dubious over the advice about telling your friends to rate it 5/5. It sounds like a bait-and-switch, especially if the game isn’t really that good.

If the game is good, it’ll get the ratings it deserves. I understand that you’re trying to promote your game and ‘beat the system,’ but still…

You’re also then focussing on one-time views, instead of long-term players (again, if the game doesn’t deserve a 5/5) – if people play it and don’t like it, they’re not coming back.

Please Don’t do that. Requesting specific rating is not good, and every time someone request it from me, I will do the opposite and rate it low.
