Woohoo! So what are the requirements to enter?
First, your game has to incorporate the MochiAds Version Control and Encryption service and run MochiAds.
Second, unlike every other contest we’ve done in the past, you must take action to submit your game to the contest. Mark the ‘Yes! Add my game to the Flash Game Walk of Fame Contest’ opt-in box when you upload your game to MochiAds with Version Control and Encryption.

Step 1 of the ‘Add New Game’ setup
Games meeting these criteria that are submitted and approved in our system between today, November 17 through midnight December 31, 2008 will be entered into the contest.

Great, but could you please drop the version control requirement. I don’t see the point, and for a lot of people it just messes up their games, so it’s really not fair, since it’s due to a bug in flash and not peoples own fault.
Yes, version control can interfere with some games if they are written in certain ways (especially AS2 games), but there are documented workarounds for all known game compatibility issues. We’re always here to help with any technical issues on the forums.
This contest would not be possible without version control, the prizes are game sponsorships. What the winners will do is add the sponsorship to the game after the contest is over using version control.
And what are the terms for the sponsorships? Are they exclusive? What can I do with the game afterwards and what are the restrictions? It’s really important to know!
Never mind, I just noticed that the picture was a link and lead to all the information needed.
i think you have to mention – does it have to or not turn on distribution? since i`m sure that distribution should be off for this games.
Another important thing. Can we upload our game to portals, while the contest is still running?
@Proto: Yes, you can upload your game to portals while the contest is running. Just know if your game is chosen as one of the winners, Arcade Town will be the sponsor and the game’s splash sequence will have to be edited accordingly.
will that mean that Arcade Town demands exclusive sponsorship rights or may we release other versions of the game that does not contain the Arcade Town splash sequence
@mørkeulv:
This is as described on the rules page. Let us know if you have further questions: “You’ll retain rights to resell site-locked versions of your winning game to other sites, free of ArcadeTown branding, beginning 14 days after the release of the ArcadeTown version of your game.”
Hey guys,
Alexander will certainly answer all your questions regarding the contest. I am your awesome point of contact for anything “winner” related that he somehow doesn’t know (but the guy’s practically omnipotent so I dont expect to do much typing).
At anyrate I want to assure everyone that we worked with Mochi to make this as fair as possible for all parties, including the devs; the version control is required to help us distribute an up to date version of the game, should older versions become popular.
On the downside I am on vacation (YAY!) so expect severely delayed replies from me until I return on the 29th.
Thanks everyone, I look forward to an awesome contest! Keep posting comments and questions, we really don’t mind answering them (and by we, I mean Mr. Shen, haha)

Okay what about before I win the contest, can I throw it out on like Newgrounds and stuff?
@Hatu:
Yes, you can throw it out on other sites. Since the game has to be Distribution Enabled, putting it on Newgrounds and similar sites is like the same thing as Flash portals pulling your game(s) from our distribution feeds.
Lets say I win 5th place (winning $1500) but I have earlier also put the game on Flashgamelicence com and got a lets say $2500 sposorship. Do I now have the right to instead take the sponsorhip from FGL and no accept 5th place?
@Hawdon:
As stated in the official rules, you do not have to accept the sponsorship if you are chosen as one of the winners. You are then free to do whatever you would like with your game.
